Published in: BMC Geriatrics, 23(1), 255. https://doi.org/10.1186/s12877-023-03945-8

Summary points:

  1. The development and validation of the Prognostic Model for Advanced DEMentia (PRO-MADE) is to address the lack of prognostic models developed to predict mortality among advanced dementia patients in the acute care setting.
  2. PRO-MADE is both internally and externally validated to prognosticate for 1 year mortality in patients with advanced dementia.
  3. PRO-MADE can be integrated into usual clinical practice to encourage early palliative care for patients suffering with advanced dementia.
