This course aims to:
- Understand the principles and overview of palliative care services in Singapore
- Identify psychosocial, emotional and spiritual issues in palliative care
- Articulate the role of Advance Care Planning
- Identify ethical issues in palliative care
- Demonstrate effective communication skills in palliative care
- Describe the aims of Palliative Rehabilitation
- Recognise the importance of caregiver support, grief and bereavement issues
This course is recommended for healthcare professionals with more than a year’s experience in Palliative Care.
Dr Joseph Ong Yew Jin is a Senior Consultant at Dover Park Hospice. Well known in the palliative care community as an educator and mentor, Dr Ong is a key faculty member in both LKCMed and YLLSoM where he teaches both under- and postgraduates.
Course fees: SGD 1275.30 per person (including 9% GST)
- Eligible Community Care Organisations (CCOs) may tap onto the Community Care Training Grant (CCTG) to subsidize course fees.
- This course is not eligible for funding using SkillsFuture Credit.
- Registered doctors who are Singapore Citizens and currently in active primary care practice in Singapore may apply for the Singapore Hospice Council Primary Care Palliative Champions (PC2) Training Award
