This course aims to:

  1. Understand the principles and overview of palliative care services in Singapore
  2. Identify psychosocial, emotional and spiritual issues in palliative care
  3. Articulate the role of Advance Care Planning
  4. Identify ethical issues in palliative care
  5. Demonstrate effective communication skills in palliative care
  6. Describe the aims of Palliative Rehabilitation
  7. Recognise the importance of caregiver support, grief and bereavement issues

This course is recommended for those with more than a year’s experience in Palliative Care.

Dr Joseph Ong Yew Jin is a Senior Consultant at Dover Park Hospice. Well known in the palliative care community as an educator and mentor, Dr Ong is a key faculty member in both LKCMed and YLLSoM where he teaches both under- and postgraduates.

 

Course fees before subsidy: SGD 1275.30 per person (including 9% GST)

* Eligible Community Care Organisations (CCOs) may tap into the Community Care Training  Grant (CCTG) to subsidize course fees:

  • 90% subsidy for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents
  • 45% subsidy for Work Pass Holders
